Idol Girls
I don't care what you say... I'm not too old for Idol. But most likely when Simon goes, I'll go.
Ok the good part of Idol officially started last night. Scott and I stayed up until 11:30 pm (WAY Past our bedtime!) to watch the first round of girls go through. I think it may be a girls' year, but it is also very early to tell. Even though watching the traveling city try-outs can be funny and we see some crazy people who think they can sing, it is only funny for about two shows and then it's time to fast forward past Hollywood week and start truly paying attention when they get to the top 24.
These are Scott's and my pick for top three girls so far:

CRYSTAL
I LOVE this girl. She is what Idol needed. A true musician and really cool voice. Unlike any other girl to ever come onto Idol. Her downside? Most people my age and older are not into American Idol, and I don't really think she will have enough of a fan base to keep her going.
KATELYN
This girl needs some help in the wardrobe department because I think she's too young to dress like a 80's pop icon. Has a really powerful voice and knows her limitations. She does make some weird facial expressions though. But some of the greatest vocal talent I can't stand to watch (i.e. Celine, Reba) so maybe it's all a part of her plan.KATIE
This girl, is ONLY 17!! Can you believe it, because I can't. She might just be the full Idol package. I think the pre-teens will love her and since that is the major market for this show (Surprisingly they also target this show to me, Scott, Rachel, and Nikki - obviously this show was made for us) she just have a very good chance.
I think that we may have a "underdog" as well.
PAIGE
I kinda forgot about this girl until right now. I think she has a pretty great voice, but had a horrible choice of song last night. You can tell she has that something special, but I don't even know if she knows what best suits her voice. We may have to wait and see on this one.
Those are our picks. Onto another season of... AMERICAN IDOL! (said just like Ryan)

House Update
Well we 9 business days or so away from having our house complete. Crazy, we know! There are still quite a bit of little details left, cleaning and touch-ups to be made but the house is really coming along nicely. We are so happy with the options we have chosen and it has been exciting to watch it all come together.

View out of the Loft - Sorry for the cloudy day.
On a sunny day this view includes Mt. Si. Thanks to the house on the right choosing the 1.5 story model. Scott says we should bake you cookies to 'thank you' for not taking our view away!
Family came to town!
Scott's parents came to visit us two weekends ago and we had such a good time. Both Scott and I love to do the tourist thing and show off Seattle because it reminds us how much we love where we live. We showed them good eats, and great sights along the way. They came up for a wedding show at our venue but we were able to squeeze a lot into the short amount of time they were here.
We were also happy that they got to see the house while it is in progress as well as show them the venue for the wedding. There are still a lot of things to do for the wedding, but we are on our way to what will be a day we will never forget.

Gray's Papaya
It has almost been four years (yikes!) since Kenzie and I went on our trip to NYC. What a trip it was too! We really took the city by storm and hit almost all of the main points with the exception of the Empire State Building and the Met (we know, we know! At least it gives us reason to go back-as if either of us needed one). One thing I have been missing lately is Gray's Papaya hot dogs. This has recently been sparked by Scott and I looking into honeymoon spots and finding out that another hot dog place I've been wanting to try may be possible on our honeymoon.
I'm definitely not a hot dog fanatic, as I know some are, but sometimes you really just need one. Has anyone seen that movie "Fools Rush In"? I wonder if they really can ship :)

Sorry for the confusion
Hello to new and old readers!
We have moved back to blogspot and are glad you followed. You'll notice that we imported our old blog so everything you could once read on there you could read on here, only... we lost all your comments :(
So Here's your new job... write a few comments to make up for all the ones we lost!
More House pictures will be up after this weekend. We promise!
Inspired
Hello readers,
I’ve rarely written about little things I enjoy or inspirational things I’ve come across through my day, but I thought I would share one today. Typically the things I find are DIY or crafty projects that I bookmark and save for a rainy day or special occasion (I promise to write about those things when I get to them one day! ), but today is something different. Today I am writing about another blogger.
Nie Nie.
I realize that I am not truly a blogger and typically just put up pictures of things going on, mostly about the house, but one day I would love to inspire others as this woman has inspired me. One day I hope to document life’s daily adventures like she has and to share everyday joys with anyone who would like to hear them.
I started reading Nie Nie about a year ago (I think) when I saw her on Oprah, another inspirational woman. She was in a terrible plane accident with her husband and friend. She suffered from burns on over 80% of her body. Sure, most people would feel sorry for her, but thats not what Nie Nie is about.
Stephanie Nielson takes joy in the everyday. She loves her children, her husband, her family and friends and doesn’t let her everyday pain and frustrations get in the way of that. Some days are better than others and she does get down, but it is in her honesty that you see her courage. She just makes you want to be a better person.
Thanks Nie Nie
So when you need a little inspiration from a fantastic woman, check her out.
Do you?
What or who inspires you?
